Chia
These guys are a little more tricky – but not much. If you give them a lot of sun and some well-drained soil, it won’t be long before you see bees and butterflies flocking to your garden or window box to drink the nectar from their beautiful blue flowers.
How to use it
While we love its bee-friendly status, chia’s real star power comes from its seeds. When your plant has flowered, collect the seeds, and scatter them over cereal, granola bars, smoothies, or yoghurt. They’re good for your heart and have a range of health benefits.
The best thing about chia: it’s a biodiversity booster.
