Sunflower
Did you ever think you could grow a sunflower from a pencil? Believe it! Just plant it in a sunny but sheltered spot with good soil, and water regularly. If you plant it outside, watch out for slugs and snails who love to nibble young shoots. As it grows, be sure to stake it so it can grow as tall as possible.
How to use it
Just some of our (many) ideas of how to use a sunflower: have a sunflower planting competition with your friends or family and see whose can grow the tallest. Cut the flowers and display them to bring some color into your life. Save the seeds and sow them again the next year. You can also put them in a bird feeder or roast them and eat them yourself!
